The Founders Fund raised over $640,000 for college scholarships at the Ed Brennan Memorial Golf Tournament and Banquet to benefit Collier County students. The two-day event was held at Club Pelican Bay with the banquet being held on April 9 and the golf tournament on April 10; over 270 guests were in attendance for the banquet and nearly 200 participated in the golf tournament.The biennial fundraising event is held every other year and includes a banquet with silent and live auctions and a golf tournament.

College scholarships were awarded to 35 Collier County students by The Founders Fund during an annual ice cream social held on April 26.

The Founders Fund, a local non-profit organization, awarded $340,000 in renewable scholarships to local students during their annual reception which honors scholarship recipients and their families. Each student will receive $2,500 per year for up to four years so long as they maintain a 3.0 average.

Friends of Foster Children Forever (FFCF) held their 11th annual Boogie Bash fundraiser on March 23 at Grey Oaks Country Club. The ‘boogie through the decades’ themed fundraiser had over 250 supporters in attendance and raised over $415,000 to benefit FFCF’s one-on-one educational mentoring programs for local foster children.

Friends of Foster Children Forever (FFCF) held their 2nd annual ‘Sunshine 5K Run/Walk’ on April 21 at the Collier County Public Schools Administration Center in Naples.

The 5K race included runners along with walkers, and was coordinated courtesy of the Gulf Coast Runners. Participants ranged in age from 7 to an 83 years old. The overall race winner was Scott Hahnert, age 30, who completed the race in 17:59 minutes.

KGT Remodeling held a “Wine, Design & Location” event for home owners and real estate professionals. The special event had nearly 50 people in attendance and was held on June 7 at Clive Daniel Home in Naples.
Guests enjoyed wine, appetizers, and networking with local experts who discussed design, remodeling, funding and insurance processes that come along with creating a dream home. Making this free event possible was KGT Remodeling, Access Title Agency, PNC Bank, and Clive Daniel Home.

Nearly 100 attendees representing local non-profit organizations throughout Collier County attended the ninth annual “Thinking Outside the Box” seminar on August 17. The annual event was held again this year at the Naples Daily News Community Room.
